Joseph Jimmy Guillermo Jones, better known as Jim Jones the rapper, is the founding member of The Diplomats. The Diplomats' music is published by Diplomat Records, of which Jim Jones is the co-CEO.
Jones released his first solo album 'On My Way To Church' in 2004, and it debuted at No. 18 on the Billboard Top 200. It sold more than 200,000 copies. The videos for both the first single, "Certified Gansta", and the second, "Crunk Muzik", have been very popular and have been played repeatedly on MTV and other music channels. Jim Jones released 'Harlem: Diary of a Summer' in 2005. Songs such as "Baby Girl", "Summer Wit Miami", and "What You Been Drankin' On" went on to become hits. "Summer Wit Miami" features Trey Songz while "What You Been Drankin' On" features artists P.Diddy and Paul Wall.
Jim Jones has also released several mixtapes, namely 'Jim Jones: One Eyed Willy' in 2004, 'Ryder Muzik' and 'Ambitionz of a Gangsta' in 2004 as well. In 2005, he released 'City of God' and 'Jim Jones: Jimmy Blanco'. 2006 saw him releasing some more mixtapes, such as 'M.O.B. (Members of Byrdgang0', 'The Seven Day Theory' and 'Jim Jones: One Eyed Willie#2'.
His latest album was released very recently, on the 7th of November, 2006. It is titled 'Hustler's P.O.M.E'. (P.O.M.E. stands for Product Of My Environment). Two songs from the album,"We Fly High" and "Reppin' Time", have become immensely popular.
Jones is now working on a movie based on his life, which has tentatively been titled 'The Jim Jones Project'. It is about the transition of a "gansta" rapper, told with a rare display of truth, and warns wannabe "gangsta" rappers about the destructive nature of the business.

Joseph Guillermo Jones II (born July 15, 1976), better known by his stage name Jim Jones, is an American rapper and original member of The Diplomats, also known as Dipset. He is Co-CEO of Diplomat Records. Jones is also a noted video director under the name of CAPO, for artists including Cam'ron, Remy Ma and State Property.
In 2004 he released his first solo album On My Way to Church. The release of his second album, Harlem: Diary of a Summer in 2005, coincided with Jones landing an executive position in A&R at E1 Music. A year later he was on his third album which spawned his biggest single to date "We Fly High". In 2006 he formed his own rap group, ByrdGang. He also has his own freestyle inline skating team, Dipskate, which he plans to take to the X Games in the near future. Jim Jones has recently partnered with Damon Dash to form Splash Records.
